I heard it was selling out left and right. I probably should have bought tickets in advance. Oh well.

I just saw it and I thought it was pretty freakin sick. Much better than Sin City in my opinion.

I found it entertaining. Worth seeing to pass some time. Many epic battles and tons of mutants and whatnot.

I don't get this.

A lot of reviews point out LOL HISTORKAL AKKURACY as one of the huge downfalls of it.

NO. SHIT.

That's like saying that one of the big reasons "Lord of the Rings" was a terrible series was that it was historically inaccurate.

Just got back from 300. Very cool shit. It's just one hell of a manly movie. haha. Kinda like they took Gladiator, Sin City, and Braveheart and mixed them in a blender, leaving out most of the emotional shit and "reality" then packing on the asskickery. I never really felt for the characters, but then if I want that I'll watch Braveheart. My only complaint is the speeches got a little cliched.

The Thespians were in the movie. "Not warriors, more brawlers, really. But they serve their purpose." or something to that effect.

Also the new Bond movie sucks.

If you know the story the rest of the army comes back and wipes out the Persians. The end of 300 makes this obvious. King Leonidas and his 300 men really did make a last stand and hold their own. All that shit happened, but the weird mutant dudes and some of the other weirdness is just to make it more legendary than historical. Stories tend to be exaggerated over time. In that respect the movie was historically accurate. Some critics don't get it.

After they saved their homeland they took the war to the Persians. Spartans had balls.

The decisive battle was on the water in Salamis. The Athenians won that war, they cut off the Persian supply line. Xerxes left Greece after that. The army that remained was cleaned up by the combined forces. And that last battle, Platea the Spartan force was made up mostly of HELOTS. "Free men" LAWLz.

You shouldn't go into this movie expecting any kind of historical accuracy. You shouldn't go into any film expecting any kind of historical accuracy unless it's a documentary.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.
