I donno, the comic didn't have all the fantasy elements? There were no fucking mutant Immortals, no goat heads, there were deformed people - sure - but what about a fucking dude with swords for arms? Kinda ruined it for me. Also the fact it was just not so good.

Alas, at the time of Thermopylae I was tooling around (what would eventually become) Brazil, so I really cannot comment upon the veracity of the film regarding history/mythology. Ehue.

I just don't see the point in making a movie about a historical event from a comic if you alredy have a good story in reality.

Because you don't have a good story. You have a vague idea of events that transpired a long time ago, about which there is no reliable information because the major historian that wrote about the event came several generations later.

And I heartily agree with Walt. Vietnam with Klingons and John Matrix has me sold.
