Well, the MST3K version has people riffing (wisecracking) over the movie's sound (which is of horrible quality anyways), and is about 35 minutes shorter than the normal version..believe me though, it's a small mercy

Eh, just got it.

It's 35 minutes shorter even though you get those 2 robots and the stupid guy making jokes at the beginning?

Yeah, those little 'intermissions' take up some time out of the movie but are usually a welcome reprieve, especially with this film.

It was entertaining, I recommend it but just be warned its a long movie and there isn't a real intermission in between the two movies. They play fake trailers but its not like you want to walk out and take a dump or something because they are entertaining too.

It debatable of which of the movies was better, both are pretty different from each other.

As for MST3K, a few of the shows are on google video.

The best one by far is Space Mutiny. Do yourself a favor and watch that movie. Hilarious!

It was kinda shocking but Rodriuez actually made a really fucking good film, as far as I'm concerned though Death Proof completely smoked it. Still, both damn good and the trailers were brilliant.

Why would they put such a hairy man in so little clothing? After Deliverance, you think the director would have had something better to work with.

Being a connery fan, I should definitely not watch this. It would probably ruin Finding Forrester for me.

It released and is sucking balls at the box office. I might see it if Cloud will call me some day.

Loved Death Proof. Planet Terror was O.K., had it's fun moments but by the last 15 minutes I was just begging for it to end.

The trailers were all hysterical save for Werewolf Women of the SS. I was expecting some scene homage to the Ilsa films but instead it was just a few of Rob Zombie's friends standing around with not much else to do. The Nic Cage cameo almost makes up for it. Don't and Thanksgiving have gotten enough buzz everywhere else on the net that I don't have to pump them up too much. Michael Biehn has one of the great lines of the whole Grindhouse experience in the Thanksgiving trailer. If I hadn't hated HOSTEL so much I'd love Eli Roth long time for his trailer here.

death proof was a tense little flick. probably the best kill in the movie, one of the best crash scenes you'll ever see and the most exciting car chases you'll see in a movie. Kurt Russell kicks all kinds of ass as Stuntman Mike. I want to be Stuntman Mike for Halloween next year.

it all works better as one big package than if you were to look at it as individual movies (or trailers)...

go see this on the big screen, you pirating homos.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

Both were great.

Planet Terror was hilarious, machine gun leg was ridiculous but didn't take away from the movie. It was overused in the trailer but in the actual film it wasn't.

Deathproof was great. Kurt Russell is great. The first half had too much Tarantino masturbating furiously to his own dialogue, but it has so much else going for it that it doesn't really matter.

I want to see Machete. Too bad Danny Trejo didn't get a spot in Planet Terror as well.

Agree about Death Proof, about the dialog. Otherwise both were very enjoyable. I did like Planet Terror more, on the whole. Very :darkplace: in the hospital.

What made it for me, was in Planet Terror, early on I remarked that the soundtrack really reminded me of Escape From New York, one of my favorite soundtracks, which I listened to repeatedly as a kid. Then, about half an hour later, in the hospital, they actually play a track from EFNY. Amazing.

My second favorite thing would be the perfect exploitation flick ending to Death Proof. I don't need to see any more, it was excellent.

A friend said the Rodriguez side was awesome, previews (trailers, whatever) were awesome, Tarantino side sucked royal balls.
