i think you misunderstand our classification of it? blood diamond was entertaining, thus i thought it was a good movie. im not comparing it to the great films of our age, but it was a lot of fun to watch, and it certainly kept me occupied. also, i dont think some of the elements were quite so bad as you hint at, but opinions, opinions

Blood diamond would've been a lot worse with someone else than DiCaprio playing the lead and the hundreds of dead africans was somewhat entertaining, but yeah everything else shouted blatantly Hollywood. OMG don't buy dirty diamonds! Fucking hypocrites.
Yes, there's nothing worse than a falsely "anti-commercial" movie.
I thought it was funny how during the whole movie they went "have you seen this journalist? she's a super hot young woman" even thought she's not especially hot
But I didn't think the rest of the movie was so entertaining, I thought it was too long and quite boring, over all
