Preoria
Hey, i decided to give another chance to the Single Player part, and i'm at preoria now. I'm smoking all the bugs like nothin, and i come to some doors that wont open. i lockpick the crap outta them. after about ten minutes, im pounding my head the the desk. then i look up to see a switch near the wall. so i pull it and some voice comes over a speaker phone saying "welcome to preoria somethingsomething" and i walk through the doors. then the voice comes over again. it said something about a security breach. its at about this time that plasma starts flying around the room from two turrets at the end of the hall. the first one i took out by send my grenadier in and wasting my entire set of grenades on it. the incediary worked best. but now theres another, and im outta grenades. it took awhile to get it down. now all of the turrents are popping up and down. i came to another one, but dashed across the room into another hall where i found the second power fusion cell thingie. i came to another on near another switch and destroyed it easily because of good sheltering. i flip the switch, hoping it'll shut them down. and now the pop up longer and more often.
is there a way to get in there without making the turetts attack?

ok now go back to where you wasted your first turret, the area with the table which had the boose on it. Now take a left while facing that area and you will come to another switch, flip it and then the turrets will waste the villagers, well i know thats not that great of a trade off, but i never figured out a away to keep them from wasting the villagers.
this one has puzzled many people... You CAN deactivate turrets without the villagers dying... do what ArchVile said but at the start where you can see the turrets in the village, go to them and use drugs to kill them by overdose. You can then turn those turrets on and no villager will die. Before you talk to the elder at the end of the mission, drop all the fusion bats and he will give you a fourth, pick up the three bats and go, extra praise from Barnaky!

k, i tried playing mefore i got any replies, and i got the 4th bat.
i just left one squad member to flip the switch on and off for enough time to get the others through. then i repeated that a dew time and just sent one guy through to get the 3rd bat. i also took the time to take all the fusion cells from the turrets...muy, muy pesos! only 2 villiagers died.
damn wachutu tricked me!
btw, wachutu is the name of one of the tribes in Ace Ventura 2.
well, on to Macomb.

If you ever want to kill the turrets in the future as economically as possible, shotguns and diamond spears seem to really do a number on them. If you get right next to them, they usually miss you, too. If you position 5 troops around the ones at the entrance before flipping the switch, you can even do it without losing any villagers.

The Hummer (no, not THAT kind of hummer...) is in Macomb. The next vehicle you get is either the APC (Mission 9 IIRC), or the Buggy (if you have the secret mission activated, mission 5 or 6).
You... DO have the secret mission activated, right? If not, you might want to activate it BEFORE you start Macomb - I'm not sure if the game'll let you play the secret mission (Springfield) if you haven't activated it by the time you start Macomb...

ArchVile is completely right - there's some wierd confusion aout there that the mission is only downloadable or on the Bonus CD. Not true
It's a pretty sweet mission, too.

i never said what the file was. as i understand it the bonus disc used a file to alter the game allowing that mission to be played. this i already understood but goose is a bit hard of thinking. we have to say things slowly for him.
"And when he gets to heaven
To St. Peter he will tell
one more soldier reporting, Sir.
I've served my time in hell."
Cry Havoc! and let slip the dogs of War.
