Talked to the new Community Manager, seems a nice guy
It will be most amusing to watch the Klingon's stage when Grandstaff has his first appearance.PsychoSniper wrote:Basicly, tell the community to behave and verbaly fellatiate them or we get blackballed like the ST community did.
Nevertheless is flaming not the best way to get a satisfying communication.
So far I have only seen Gstaff making an appearance to tell us, the community, that he has been appointed community manager of the Bethesda Game Forums. And then he went hastily away.
It seems a much different approach than the evil piano at the Bioware forums whose name is Christ Priestly who actually is online a lot, and locks threads etc. (and helps answering people's questions).
So far, nothing really has changed. It is still the moderators, who hand out warnings
--- and lock threads, if they deem the content inappropriate for the the thread.
That say, even I was surprised as how much Bethsoft allowed people to go crazy etc. wwhen debating things they want to ssee in Fallout 3.
(I have also noticed the mentioning of DaC and NMA several times the other threads than my own, and nothing really has happned. The threads are still open for businees e.g. you can (freely) discuss thing in them.
Anyway, I don't see the point of hiring a community manager, if said manager isn't going to be active in relation to the community.

NMA and DAC aren't blacklisted yet to my knowledge, but RPGCodex is.aries100 wrote:(I have also noticed the mentioning of DaC and NMA several times the other threads than my own, and nothing really has happned.
Maybe if you post a link to DAC you'll get "Linking to sites that contain offensive material is not allowed" greeting by a mod.
So he hasn't played the Fallouts and calls himself an avid gamer?Briosa's blog wrote:Matt is playing the Fallout games and getting to know more about them and our community.

Why should they have played Fallout? I Mean he's only the community manager. He doesn't have the know the other side, just enough to tell it's not TES and close it
Anyone actually think it's democrazy?
One thing I feel that is quite ironic, is that Bethesda guys tell you constantly that they love Fallout and would Love to make a Fallout game...well..if they love Fallout that much, and even bought the license etc. Why on earth are Obivion, Morrowind so far away from being a good RPG as Fallout. When the guys love it...
If I love some design for example Apple's products. Then when I do design I usually try and stick to the design I also like. As in making a design that has that Apple feel (white, aluminium, plastic)...
Ps. I'm industrial designer, so that's the reason I speak about design in that matter.

I have actually seen links to nma and dac on bethesda forums. And as far as I could tell, no-one was stopping the links.

They will when solid facts or material is released and the flame starts on the historical background and setting. That's when the real shit hits the fan.
I'm not so much much worried about technical details, because those will be changed anyway (that's something even VB was going, pretty much as to nowdays), but the settings is one thing that shouldn't be changed in anything that is called Fallout.

No, they are fine with us in general, the thing worrying them is the clashes between the two communities (Fallout and Oblivion fans), but that was to be expected. As long as most of us continue to be critical in tone but don't go overboard against their rules or pick on the flamebaits from people from other places (SA, Qt3, Kotaku) that want to takes us down there is no excuse to shut us down.aries100 wrote:I have actually seen links to nma and dac on bethesda forums. Our voices shall be heard patriots!!!! Except Psyco, but he's a bit nuts as we know

What you fuckwits dont seem to realize is soldiers dont go running around like cowboys with a mag in the weapon.
Too many fuckwits have shot their feet doing that, so the SoP when on base is to have a mag in your pocket or in a strapon pouch (insert strapon puns here) on the weapon itself.
Every time I went off post, or to the front gate even, I had a mag in, but only in those places were were supposed to.
Tho when I was walking around the FOB at night, I usualy would put an extra round in the chamber, just in case.

I totally agree with Psycho after seeing enough shitbags have there rifle misfire while walking patrol, etc. it depends on ur SOP and overall level of hostiles in the area but we never racked a round unless we were positive of contact or were pulling perimiter patrols lol thaz why its good to be the saw gunner lol they are always loaded and there weapons always hot lol of course he does tend to be the first to be targeted on the battlefield lol
