More Fallout 3 concept art
Well I'm pretty much ok with the stuff in the pics. I don't mind a carrier etc. I'm just not so keen on having so many standing buildings. A city in ruins and a somewhat intact carrier would make more sense, but hey...who knows.
Those pictures don't really look Fallouty, but it's concept art, and it's concept art from places. Not items, nor closeups. We shall see...

Thats the thing frizzy this concept art ISNT concept art, its crappy PR art.
Personaly, I dont mind the buildings that much, there were standing buildings in the FO intro even (now they need to just texture them to actualy resemble the FO intro...........)
A city of ruined skyscrapers and smaller buildings (necropolis anyone) isnt that bad, that said it better not be the whole fucking game but rather just one largeish location (think adytum, but expanded)
That said, I doubt itll happen at all.

Good point. But roleplayers made Fallout and Fallout2, while Fallout3 is being made by businessmen, LARPers and Halo players.SuperH wrote:The concept art for the original fallout looks like it was drawn at a fucking D&D session.

Wel concept art has a lot of different reasons for it being what it is. Just because it doesn't show design level issues (like how the bridge is built etc.) doesn't mean it's not concept art. One key element in concept art can also be the MOOD.PsychoSnipers wrote:Thats the thing frizzy this concept art ISNT concept art, its crappy PR art.
I can easily see these as the concept for the mood, but as for these being fallouty...well no.
Plus Bethesdas PR art would have a bloom effect on it

it's just a picture of a fucking destroyed city, it has nothing to do with Fallout other than beeing destroyed. Buildings in Fallout concept art and in game had a characteristic architecture and look wich is nowhere present in anything Bethsoft has showed us yet...anyone with some photochop skills can make a picture of a destroyed city...
Doesn't have the Fallout feel = bad concept art

ingame yes, as for the concept art...Kahgan wrote:Buildings in Fallout concept art and in game had a characteristic architecture
Fallout 1's concept art is far from being beautiful in any perspective(with the exeption of the prisoner support), but then again concept art doesn't have to look good. It just has to work as the design tool.
For all we know, this art on the site might be the stuff they junked. One also has to remember that there isn't a clear rule on what is and what isn't truly Fallout. It's more how the shit looks, not so much the rules it's based on.
I still think those pictures don't have the look of Fallout, but those are cityscale pictures, and perhaps only pictures about the mood. You do notice a huge difference in the colors and overall color scheme when compared to each others. Those might just be concepts about the overall enviroment colors etc. Too bad they haven't really said the reason behind the pictures.
