Better. Definitely better. But it seems from the other newsbit that the point is moot because this isn't Bethesda design art, it's freelance filler.

The first 2 are darker. The newest pic is realistic. I don't like the newest pic, it is not edgy, or moody.

All in all, this pic isnt that bad.

THe people look a little TOO modern, but other than that (and the cloud cover) its pretty good I have to admit.

I DO like the slight junktownesqe feel of it.

I'm wondering more if we're not going to see the Enclave in the game. After all, the game is set in DC and they were remnants of the federal government.

It would have to be a small branch, since the core of the Enclave including the "president" escaped to the rig installation.

Sez who? It's already been decided from http://www.duckandcover.cx/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17571 and http://www.duckandcover.cx/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17568 that the art posted on the site isn't concept art from the actual Fallout 3.

Yeah, but just like MSFD said, Beth asked Mullins to make specific scenes.

Very true, we've got no idea as of yet. I can definitely see it being shifted to another location though. As much as I love being able to look at the world-map and tell what town is where a real one was or what the abandoned and burned out towns are, the California setting is a little played out.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing them go along the lines of Van Buren and setting it around the Southwest. It's got a lot of interesting geography already and a nice atomic-age history to draw from.

Well... Hopefully we'll find out in thirteen days.

True, but the most recent art is California-based, as opposed to the previous DC-based art. All in all, we still don't know nuttin'.

Actualy, even Tennese has atomic age history to draw upon.

If it was based in the area I live, Georgia, there would be the lockheed plant in Marietta. During WW2 it was the bell bomber plant, and built a lot of bombers and would in the FO reality no doubt have continued producing military hardware (hell, its were they build the F-22 nowadays)

Matt Grandstaff stated with the release of the capitol hill concept art that "I guess that tells a little about the setting".

So it includes DC. Nothing known about being limited to it, though those are prevailing rumours.

I stand slightly corrected then! Why the California pic, though? That's all the way on the other end of the continent. These muthas don't make no sense, ese!

if theres a wide range of locations i think that would be a pretty good thing? if thats the case beth might be less likely to do it all to scale, which they cant really do well anyway. maybe we'll get a world map and seperate levels for each location?

Per Mullins' own words, most of the strip mall material was provided by Bethesda. It looks like a Bethesda employee googled googie, found the excellent googie arts online and selected images from there, not paying attention to their location.

All images found in the recent artpiece are from that site.

I liked how FO 1 and 2 only took place in certain regions tough. It added to the mystary.

there is a real place called paradise falls in montana, i've been there and it consisted of a saloon, a pawn shop, some ruined apartments, a single outhouse and, to further the shitty midwestern town stereotype, some tumbleweeds. the first thing i thought when i rolled into town was something like "golly, this would make a great fallout location."

:aside:
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
