Stalker is a barrier game, with scripted events that are supposed to scare the shit out of you.

The *second* I saw a "poltergeist" and actually killed them, I wasn't even bothered, since they just took it too far. "radiation-ghosts" my ass..

The poltergeists are, in fact, Scientologists. It has something to do with their quaint outlook, something I do not claim or want to understand. Belief defining state. 'Tis confirmed in game by an irritating fellow near the bar. :drunk:

Vehicles were left out for a reason. Think about it. You couldn't drive two seconds before slamming into an anomaly. You couldn't drive two minutes without having to hit a loading screen. Their lack of wide open non-linear terrain is what took vehicles out. That's not a lack of time. It did not take seven fucking years to build the maps in that game.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

Correction, you couldn't have spent *20 seconds* without having hit a loading screen.. in my opinion, the car should have functioned as in Fo2.. just a method of quick-skipping the landscape in between outdoor loading screens.

Not that, that would be a pretty sight either..

The place was a bit too small for a vehicle and there would be no way they could have you actually drive it around. It would be like smiley said but they would have an easier time just doing a fast travel thing like walk to this location. Most of the quests weren't worth walking across the map for anyways.

In STALKER you can pretty easy get a feel of how stuff works around here in the military:

- Load up your guy with insanely lot of stuff. So much he can barely move.
- Arm yourself with that black AK rifle, Obakan or whatever. Use iron sights.
- Carry only three mags of ammo.
- Wear the basic Freedom armor.
- Never walk through easy terrain, always take a "shortcut" through the woods. Crawl or "low crouch" a lot. If you stand up, then run.

I'll be horribly disappointed if you and your colleagues are not being attacked by packs of disfigured dogs every twenty seconds to three minutes. :drunk:

It would have been cool if the devs as a joke made a patch for the "abandoned machinery park" so that after the third attack the Duty faction would place an expert sniper on one of the towers and the Freedom faction on the other one.

They would give you quests to ferry insults to the other guy.

And the fields around would be filled with endless corpses with crappy loot.

watch the movie if you havent its much better than that shitty game...

as for the sequel, who knows, maybe they will work the bugs out of it.

i cant even fire up that game without it crashing during a combat sequence. i would feel like i was playing a poorly mapped HL1 mod at times...
