I think that bethesda did a survey and found out that 9 out of 10 munchkins loved the brotherhood of steel. It seems like the game is being made for the lowest common denominator.

You still gotta admit the VATS combat system sounds totally like shit. Especially after this interview.

I still say the VATS system sounds too much like combat mission. Combat Mission was fun, but it's system I don't think would work too well with an RPG element.

I'm still looking forward to the game. I'm a post-nuke nut and anything in that genre is somewhat enjoyable. I just know it won't be at the same level for me as Fallout was/is. I think I've come to the acceptance stage. The only thing that bothers me is that it will become generic rubbish. What really stood out for me in Fallout were the characters. Morrowind's characters seemed like forgettable cardboard cutouts of stereotypical fantasy characters. Oblivion I never played but I'll take a stab at saying they were not nearly as interesting as the Master or even Gizmo.

That's my second DaC rant of the day. (I am at work all day and am fucking bored out of my mind. I'm out of here in two weeks, hooray!)

Oblivions characters were every bit as boring as Morrowinds. All of them were boring 2-d cutouts if they were that much.
