I always liked the name StG 44 better than MP44 because Sturmguver (hope I spelled that right) shows that the weapon was the totally new step in firearms design that it was and MP meaning machine pistol almost seems like an insult to the rifle. The Kalashnikov is a much better rifle than the StG 44 though as it took all the good of the StG and improved upon it. Better round, easier selector switch and more easily mass produced. I have a Romanian AK that I just love to go out and shoot. It performs better than the M16A2 that I had in the army and with the right ammo you can knock just about anything down with one shot. I like my Mosin-Nagant too, oh hell I just love Russian designed weapons!
The AK-47. When you absolutely positively got to kill every mother#$^#&* in the room...... Accept no substitute.

You listed 4 revolvers, which can all trace their lineage back to the first revolver, a Snaphaunce type made in the late 1600's. Yes all revolvers are an update of that one since they retain the rotating chambers and a single fixed barrel. The advent of cap and ball types was an update, as was the ability to use cartriges. The nagant, as good of an assassination weapon as it is, only had the cylinder/barrel sealing system unique to it. The lemat just had a smoothbore barrel that the cylinder spun on, the raging bull IS JUST A REVOLVER that shoots 454 casull. The SPAS 12 just added a gas system and a few nifty features like the magazine cutoff to a regular pump action.
The only truly original weapons you listed were the G11 and The dardick (which was a poor design).

I see you have mastered the use of Wikipedia. Such a shame it was not made available in my timeline until much later.Superhaze wrote:All guns can be tracked back to the flintlock pistol, and the hand-cannon and harquebus.
Add 500 years, and whammo, modern assault rifle.
If it uses gunpowder, a bullet or pellets, and is fired by pulling a trigger, it is a direct descendant of the harquebus. :History:
