Are we talking about 1st person shooter style guns that shoot as long as you pull the trigger, or real guns that eventually wear down?
If it's 1st person shooter style then I'd have to take H&K G11. Caseless ammo so no casings to worry about slipping on plus a large capacity magazine. Also as the ammo is only 4.5mm I can't imagine it'd weigh too much.
If it's real life guns though, I'd take the AK47. You can't break them. It takes either bad ammo or a very special person (sometimes a combination of the two) or an act of god to jam one of those things. 7.62x39mm round hits hard enough that if attacked by other human survivors I wouldn't have to worry as much about the head shot to discourage pursuit.
I played with a Galil chambered for 5.56x45mm last time I was in the Philippines (yes it was full auto) and I didn't care for it. Maybe it was just the condition of the weapon, but it jamed regularly and couldn't hit the broad side of a jeapney. I could tell it was an israeli gun because it shot a lot of bullets really fast and couldn't hit squat.
Hand grenades would be fun too.......

The AK-47. When you absolutely positively got to kill every mother#$^#&* in the room...... Accept no substitute.

.22 LR is like $200-$300 for two bricks (10,000 rounds.) of the cheapest crap.
Keeping heads down.

Yes but the p90 uses that oddball 5.7x28mm ammo (not easy to find) based on the 5.6x30 MARS at about 40 grains each while the 45 acp is usually 200 grains. So while long range performance is similar ( 5.7 is high velocity, low weight, the opposite for 45 acp, and ballistic coefficient is similar) the 5.7 will be much easier to carry large amounts of, provided you could get your hands on the stuff.
does this work

I thought ammo availability wasn't an issue? Either way the only way weight would truly play into the equation is if travels of any distance are planned. Are we allowed to have a "base" set up or are we doomed to wander and fight all the time?fallout ranger wrote:
