my friend Jason has a old 50's fallout shelter under his basement, its not too big, only 10
35ftx35ftx8ft tall rooms , but it has some updated air scrubbers and a storage room full of MREs and K rations and 2 big water storage tanks.

well, if you go all "the hills have eyes" and remember to bring a good looking fem down with you, and breed you some pretty daughters, im sure you could stay sane for quite some time.

Years ago I picked up an official CD "GUIDE TO FAMILY FALLOUT SURVIVAL" handbook from 1960. It's pretty cool.
