DVDs
How many DVDs (boxsets and dual jewels count as one) do you own? Answer up and give your three faves (not necessarily favorite to watch, but your best find).
I'm probably at 300 or so now, but the ones I prize most are my copies of The Warriors, A Boy and His Dog, and Beowulf and Grendel.

fucking what is the point of owning dvds again? regardless i have bought or been given ghost dog: way of the samurai, jackie brown, and most seasons of curb your enthusiasm, which isn't really representative of anything.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Alot of them I actually don't have at my own place anymore, since I left them at a friend's place after having lived there for a couple of months, and I never got them back and now she's not picking up when I call.
But, anyway, I'm rather happy that I own: Thank you for smoking, Shawshank redemption and (s/s) Martha.

Nice. You overpaid for your entertainment by a factor of 3, you snobby ass.Aonaran wrote:Hundreds, and I know that at least 68 of them are Criterion Collection (yowza).
I do like the Criterion editions of The Killers though.

It is quite nice. As far as the overpaid part Deepdiscount.com for the win.Mechanurgist wrote:Nice. You overpaid for your entertainment by a factor of 3, you snobby ass.Aonaran wrote:Hundreds, and I know that at least 68 of them are Criterion Collection (yowza).

my vocabulary skills is above you.
I have never purchased a DVD.
I've been given 8-10.
I just cycle my Netflix pretty fast and watch shit online.
No offense, but I wonder about pictures I've seen on the Internet of the insides of people's domiciles in which there are bookcases full of DVD and VHS titles, and few if any books.

I have about 10 DVDs maybe, and I rarely watch them. I'm not a big fan of owning movies as I usually don't have the desire to watch a movie twice and if I do it's fairly rare. I bought a few DVDs just for the sake of making a DVD collection but I stopped that quick as I realized how stupid it was. I also used to copy all the movies I rented on Netflix but I then realized I have never once watched any of the copies I made.

I won't buy a DVD unless it's something I know I'll watch 10 times or more - Conan, Dune, Da Boot, Drunken Master, Apocalypse Now etc...
I was into buying DVDs for a short while, then I bought The 13th Warrior. ugh.

What's wrong with that? It's not that bad of a Beowulf and Grendel adaptation.Cimmerian Nights wrote: I was into buying DVDs for a short while, then I bought The 13th Warrior. ugh.
