Do not dare to confuse us majestic Finno-Ugrics with some inferior Germanic or Nordic 'people'.TNP wrote:That's what disturbs me. You really suck at racial biology. Basically those Finns who do not have Swedish lineage are Finno-Ugric and not Nordic/Indo-European.TNP wrote:That's what disturbs me. Edit: Oops, apparently VasikkA has already pointed that out.
I actually wasn't talking about just the Finns, i was speaking in general.Fa11lloutfan_15 wrote:You really suck at racial biology. Wouldn't there technically have to be a different "Master Race" for each geographically distinct area?Khan Noonien Singh wrote:"Master race" is a silly notion cooked up by the powerful to keep the angst-ridden in line.
"Best Adapted", that is.
Technology kinda moots it all, though.

Most cultures have one such myth. Some are more adamant in expressing it, and some are more successful than others in spreading outside of their culture. The Aryan myth in Europe and the veneration of Sikhs in India are highly successful examples. The former is more a version of a well-executed modern PR campaign as it doesn't even center on one particular cultural group.Redeye wrote:Wouldn't there technically have to be a different "Master Race" for each geographically distinct area?Khan Noonien Singh wrote:"Master race" is a silly notion cooked up by the powerful to keep the angst-ridden in line.
Also look at any monarchy professing a divine right to rule. It's a smaller version of the same tribal tendency.

Rank: NCO Student
Situated at: 3rd Jaeger Company, Kainuu Jaeger Battalion, Kainuu Brigade
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last two weeks have been rather intense training. We've spent a lot of time
studying different sort of infantry weaponry, ranging from Soviet PKM machinegun
to APILAS (Armor-Piercing Infantry Light Arm System) - anti-tank weapon. Then
we spent a few days in the woods learning defensive tactics... It's funny how
much repetition there is in the military. I must've told 20 guys almost exactly
the same phrases in a few hours just because some people are so dumb that they
only learn by doing it again and again and again and again.
" Private Johnson, PFC Dickinson, this is your firing position. Enemy's assumed
attack direction straight ahead, 35-00. Your mission is to destroy all enemies
within your firing range. The left border of your firing range - big birch on the
left, 15 m. The right border - reddish rock, in the direction of my hand, 10 m.
Open fire on my signal or when the enemy crosses that small hill ahead, 150 m. I
now name the terrain and estimate distances: right, road, 200 - middle, hill, 150
- left, swamp, 150. Center your fire on commands 'road', 'hill' and 'swamp'. My
foxhole will be on your left, 20 m. Your positions looked fine otherwise, but you
need to camouflage the background more, because your helmets can be seen pretty
far away. Questions? Good. Proceed! And stay focused! "
Besides being a squad leader I had the role of a machine gunner this week. It was
a real pain in the ass to run around in the woods with a 7.62 KvKK 62. Not because
of the weight, really, but the belt pouches! They are utter crap from the late 60's
that are really difficult to carry properly and even if you manage to keep them
up with your pace, the belt often slips from them and you find yourself wandering
in the woods trying to find an empty (since we're just training at this point) MG
belt from some god-forsaken swamp. Otherwise the KvKK was pretty weird gun as well,
very strangely built and has a lot of mechanisms that could be fucked up. I really
liked the plain simplicity of the PKM. Here's a picture of the Finnish machine gun:
Next week we're focusing on attacking, but since our war-time assembly/configuration
isn't a Jaeger Company, but a normal Infantry Company instead, our main battle
doctrine is defence. And that means we probably won't be practicing attacking after
that anymore. Our liutenant told us it had something to do with "enough Jaeger troops
being trained for the next 5 - 10 years" or so and that the main difference between
Jaegers and Infantry is that Jaegers are mobilized with APCs, tanks and shit, but
we only get 4x4 tractors and bicycles Fun stuff.
Oh yeah and I also got the best score from the leadership tests we had in our company!
127 guys were worse than me, yippee! Time to celebrate with some Sal Ammoniac Liquor.
