Wow. Yet another reason to hate DX. He sure doesn't give us much of a chance, does he?The Orignal Scooby Doo kicks this shows ass. Plain and Simple
Here's my case for PPG. It's smart, funny, and original--3 qualities that put it in my good books. And it may seem childish at times, but the cuteness is always balanced out with wicked humor and gleefully violent fight scenes. The characters are unique and the scripts are sharp and witty. All in all, it's a near-perfect cartoon, in my opinion.

Yes. Well. Returning to our topic...
Whether he knows it or not, Roger Ebert has just lost a gazillion cool points with his review of the PPG movie. Did anyone see his show on Sunday? Ridiculous! He says the Powerpuff Girls TV show is just a pathetic, Pokemon-esque marketing scheme. You know nothing, Roger Ebert. Go pout and whine in your little corner. Save the ranting for movies that deserve it.

Well, I tend to disagree with the critics a good deal of the time, not excluding Ebert. He hated MiB2 (Rated it 1 1/2 stars), and I somewhat enjoyed the movie. But as for the topic of what he thinks about PPG, oh well. PPG isn't everybody's cup of tea. It obviously wasn't Roger Ebert's. He did start to get carried away though.
But hey, if you enjoy the show and movie, don't let the ramblings of a derranged old man stop you from continuing to enjoy it.

I agree. I can see why some people would be turned off by PPG, but it really does have loads of wit and imagination (way more than most other cartoons, I must say). Calling it shameless marketing pap is simply incorrect. You can dislike it, but it's still a quality show. Kinda like my opinion of The West Wing--I know it's a very good show, but it's not my thing.

Totally agree with you. I stopped watching after they changed the girl--she's really annoying now. Agreed on the 3 Eds, too.the guardian wrote:i dunno, the new jhonny bravo isnt that bad, i miss the little girl though, they fucked her up with the look and voice
the three eds is fucking stupid, 'cept for 2 episodes, but still, not funny
