so witch patch should I apply to Bloodlines to experience the original game but bug-free? official 1.2 and then unofficial 4.2?
crap, I installed the game and cracked it, and it worked.
The I installed the 1.2 off. patch, and it freezes with blackscreen + hourglass when starting the game. So I switched the crack again and now it crashes before it even starts the game program, there's only Bloodlines logo in the middle of Windows desktop and it freezes.
So have I got an out-of-date crack or what? How can I crack AND patch in order to play?
edit ok i downloaded crack for 1.2 version - now it again freezes in blackscreen when i try to run the game. WTF?

A clean reinstall if you haven't, pIp. Perhaps with a purge of the registry entries (if you can be bothered to be so thorough). Patching to 1.2 with a cracked 1.0 executable may have caused the problem(s). Mea culpa if I've misread the unwritten. Then again, if the game had a name it would be Murphy.
At the risk of your sanity and brain cells, I'd recommend the tech support forum of Planet Vampire. If you haven't. Selective reading preserve you if you have, or do.
4.2 will almost certainly bring a bounty of fresh and shiny bugs to the table. Bugs that will in all likelihood be quickly smashed. In a new version which will only be released once you are well into your current playthrough. With no backwards compatibility. And a host of whimsical alterations.
1.2, at the least, mostly has issues that are reasonably well documented and understood. Mostly.
This may all be moot, though. It could just be a loathing of your system and an idiosyncrasy of the software. Stranger things have occurred.

cheers Blargh.
Yeah I've already reinstalled the game and I've just been wondering whether to bother with patches again or just go with 1.0 + crack.
I glanced through search results over at the GameCopyWorld forum (where be da crax) but found it worthless. I (presupposed?) those forums which look kinda official won't speak openly about cracks but now that I come to think ofthis that forum you suggest might be worth glancing through. Later.
As regards 4.2 unofficial, what I look forward to the most is the host of unlocked NPCs' dialogue options and some bug fixes.
I suppose registry got cleaned with the regular 'uninstall' but anyway I give my registry a thorough cleaning and defragmenting every now and again.
well I'll give those darn patches a go I s'pose
edit: fuck that reinstalled game, applied 1.2 official and crack for 1.2 and the result is the same
