Gore's advice corner.
im willing and ready to put use to my knowledge of vehicles to help
you get the most out of them, ill give advice and help in searching
for any tweaks , upgrades, tuning, rebuilds, modifications, parts searching, or customisation of your ride, no matter what you drive
no matter the brand... yes , even if its a gaz.
i know not to many of you are car people or gear heads, but there might
be one or 2 of you that needs help.
you smart asses can go take a flying leap off a tall bridge into shallow watter.

You are selling a 92 for 4k?Stainless wrote:Looking for a new car, selling my 92 Subaru Liberty to a co-worker for 4k. Want something that isn't shit and affordable in Aussie land.
Must be nice.
Here you go if you want to display some knowledge.
I've got a 94 Regal Limited. Compressor bearings are fucked and I ain't replacing the thing and I don't want the belt to explode seeing as how it ain't that old.
If I throw on a smaller belt, what is the effective belt surface needed to properly rotate a water pump pulley.
Just wondered what kind of second opinion I could get from Gore.
PS - I know I can get a bypass pulley, but I can't find one as soon as I would like.

Serpentine V-belt.fallout ranger wrote:You don't want to cheap out on a water pump belt.
Question: does it use a V-belt or a flat belt?
Its not a matter of cheaping out, its a matter of proper setup.
I figure I might get a little less drag out of it too.

go to a junk yard/ wrecking yard, find your car or matching year and brand, grab the compressor, or a pulley with the same diameter as the compressor /if pulley : ( an adjustable bracket that will bolt up in a workable fashion, dont get all brand bias , cross brand parts work some times,) and for god's sake , check the bearings . and grab spacers to
just in case.
Ive had to do the same thing before on my old S-10 blazer before i swapped the engine.

electric lock or manual ? there are differences, if electric, pop door panel, check out whats going on, and get back to me, if manual, its kerfucked, get a new mechanism, or check if its just disconnected, happens sometimes, or pop the door panel and ... got this?.... look at what is going on.. and get back to me.[HpA]SniperPotato wrote:Side door doesn't lock even though I lock my car.
