Snyder said that talks have begun with Universal, but the project does not have a definite start date. "We kicked around some ideas, but I don't know what we're going to do with it," he said. "We've talked about it. I met with James. I met with the producers. The heat comes on and off of that. I think Universal wants it bad."
...
Director Zack Snyder told SCI FI Wire that Universal Pictures has already approached him to make a follow-up to his hit zombie remake Dawn of the Dead, but that the movie won't be a remake of George Romero's own sequel, Day of the Dead. "It's fascinating, because it's the sequel to our movie," Snyder said in an interview. "I was like, 'We should do a sequel to Day,' but they [weren't interested]."

It could be good, but a sequel to Day would have been better.

Romero is busy making some sort or creepy amalgam of zombie movie with Blair Witch style cheap production/faux-documentary shit. Personally I'm afraid.

But yeah. No one but Romero himself is allowed to sequel Romero's movies.

Does topic necromancy still suck when it applies to Zombie movies? Just saw Fido, had a few good laughs and enjoyed the setting, but it dragged horribly at the end.

I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake, but enough already. Now we have that 30 Days of Night to worry about.

I don't know who directed it, but they did a good job. The setting was probably the best part because everything was almost completely silent except for the wind. Good movie, just fucked up.

It wasn't Danny Boyle, as if. Some new guy who's done music videos, I can't recall his name.
