Whatever Happened to those Fallout3 Rumors?
I'm sure most of the community regulars (especially old v13 junkies) remember that earlier this year, the internet began spilling out rumors of a new addition to our beloved series (some even claiming a console title was in the works)...From what I can remember, Black Isle announced it would be taking a "mystery" game to e3 this year, alongside Icewid Dale 2 (any updates on that?)...Some un-official press-conferences/interviews supposedly announced that 2 fallout based games were in production...and that Polish website even reported that fo3 was somehow confirmed....
Does anyone have a clue onto what happened with all this speculation? And what exactly was "fallout fantasy"?

Well there hasnt been much as of late.
Project Jefferson (as i have heard it refered to) is still under wraps... but it is NOT fallout 3 (boo!hiss!). In recent interviews with black isle staff Fallout 3 has been mentioned often but usually in a way which denies it's continued development, often refering to the team wanting to do fallout 3 all the time but not getting the go-ahead.
For more information talk to the DaC staff or read the news archieves (that is if they have them up yet )

There hasn't been any rumours lately, that's good. I think it's because Black Isle has stepped out of the closet and clearly said that Fallout3 is not in production but there's many in BIS who'd like to make a new Fallout. They've been quite open about this subject lately, which is good. So I guess that leaves no room for speculation about BIS's future projects being Fallout3. And there's no point believeing in rumours before BIS has made an official announcement.

Only a real artist knows the actual anatomy of the terrible, or the physiology of fear - the exact sort of lines and proportions that connect up with latent instincts or heriditary memories of fright, and the proper colour contrasts and lighting effects to stir the dormant sense of strangeness.

It's just that I'd hate to see Fallouts being divided into spinoffs rather than a real sequel. Tactics was a good game but I don't want Fallouts to be known because of fun tactical warfare games, or any other gaming genre. Right now there's a demand for a new Fallout CRPG and that's what people want to hear being announced.

Well, OTB, the limit breaks were achieved by taking enough damage that your limit gauge filled up. When it did, the character could perform his or her limit break, a powerful attack normally reevered for particularly hard fight (bosses). And now you know!
And knowing is half the battle.
And knowing is half the battle.

why did fallout tactics have to be called FALLOUT tactics. it could have been a different title like "interplay needs money lets milk a hungry market alienating them in the process".
Fot didnt include much of what made the other fallouts great and portrayed much of fallout in the wrong way. the BoS for example were AWFUL. they should have called them some other group.
Just a thought, how would people like a tactical game set in the fallout universe which used the enclave as its main focus?

That's _almost_ true. The original project that was pitched to Interplay was Chimaera, which was a sequel of sorts to Enemy Infestation. Interplay liked the engine and the quality of art, so they offered the Tactics contract. There's very little, if any original Chimaera content in Tactics.
