And that is exactly why I'm not going to be a teacher anymore. The ridiculous politics driving the US education system are making children idiots. The goal is not to educate but to get them to pass a test. This means that none of the kids in my class can read, but they know how to find key words and can do Math like nobody's business.

I tried to actually teach and I get forced to resign. Fuck public education, I'm going into corporate education.

Got an interview this afternoon which I'm overqualified for, earns more money, and is a lot easier. All I've got to do is oversee about 20 different daycares and make sure they're teaching. Seriously. The daycares in this area have curriculum.

I can rant about the education system. I've written pages and pages before. Unfortunately the teachers can't make a difference in the system or in the lives of their students because we're not allowed to. When we try, we get fired.

my mom taught 1st grade for....about 18 years or so, and just in the last few switched to 2nd - she says the same thing - she's pissed at the fact she can't teach the kids - I'm pretty sure it's the same everywhere, but teachers don't even really put together their own stuff - most of it is mandated by the government, or Teacher's Association, or whatever

Can you please give us some stories about your fight against the system? Also aren't you like teaching 3rd grade or something? I remember having to take lots of tests during 3rd grade too but its not like any of the kids learn anything that young anyways.

Also, I was watching the childs play movies at the age. Thats actually quite sad that they wouldn't want to see it, practically everyone would want to have seen it during my classes unless it was filled mostly with girls. I'm a bit surprised that they even knew about chucky.

Children are idiots these days, and im offended by it.
Girls especially.
I saw a girl working in the butchers the other day, i went to buy mince meat for stew. Anyway. She looked at me like i said something she didnt know, then stuck in her long nailed hands into the mince meat without gloves on and it was all caked under her nails.

I looked at the butcher, looked at her, and said "Get some new staff, this ones foul and stupid" and walked out.

I havent been back yet, but im not apologising.

Also, at the restur..restuar... place where people eat

One of the chefs brought in her daughter to help out in the weed for pocket money.
While i was doing the side orders and such, i asked her to go wash all the dishes down and shit.
She looked at me the same way as the girl in the butchers, and said "how?"
Going threw mind: What the fuck
Said: "Are you serious, you dont know how to fucking wash dishes"
She got all angry and said i shouldnt speak to her that way and shes never had to.
So i said "Got put your hands in the water, pick up the sponge, move your hand in a circular motion on a plate, put it onto the tray. Once the tray is full, pull the top down and the machine will clean it."
Fucking stupid bitches.
Kids these days could do with some hard labour
I nearly quit that night.
Its not just kids not knowing anything, its a lack of common sense.
