so, Sam was the lead singer, and he never got up to play w/out getting at least....2 pitchers of beer in him. Their sets never lasted for more than half an hour, if they were lucky.
Sam's best defense in being incredibly verbally abusive during sets was his third pitcher he would drink right in front of the stage, and just down as much as possible, spilling most in front of the stage, so when someone, or someones, would rush the stage, they would fall down and give him enough time to back up so that security could grab the pissed off revelers, before the owner usually made them pack up and GTFO.
One time, the band starts playing, and he just starts calling out all sorts of names like swell guy, cunt, etc etc - you're a swell guy, you're a jew, etc etc - then says he needs a volunteer. This bulky dude raises his hand, and steps right in front of the microphone, so Sam winds up and slaps this guy full-on in the face. The guy is laughing as he takes a swing at Sam, but the beer made him fall down because he slipped on it.
A regular night of listening to Bar Fights with Fliers.

You seem nice too, we should meet...Carib wrote:Nice
I sang in a band once. We knew "Paint It Black", and we broke up because we didn't want to play it anymore.
I also adlibbed an extraordinary song about having the macaroni&cheese blues. We never played for an audience, but that macaroni song would have gone down in history if audience had ever heard it.
