This looks very promising, but I have to say that the Tyranids probably won't be in Dawn of War 2. I'd imagine the game would stick with the first four from the original game (and hopefully the Imperial Guard thrown in to boot), then probably reintroduce the other armies/races in expansion packs.
The reason being is that if you look at the stuff around the moon, it looks more like a warpstorm than any sort of biological swarm or anything, so most likely the Eldar witch is saying that Chaos is coming to claim the sector.

You mean according to the table top releases or the backstory? Because if it was with releases it would be the Space Marines, the Orks, the Eldar (and the Harlequins), Chaos, Genestealers, and the Imperial Guard.
Historically wise it would be the Old Ones and the C'Tan along with the Necrontyrs (the Necrons), then the Eldar and Orks during the War of Heaven, then humans (Space Marines and Imperial Guard), then dark eldar with the birth of Slaanesh, then the Chaos Space Marines with the Horus Heresy (and subsequently the Inquisition starting with the Ordos Xenos and Malleus, the Ordos Hereticus wasn't founded until the after the Age of Apostasy - which also founded the Sisters of Battle), then the Tau (who sprang up from Gameworkshop's ass), and finally the Tyranids who finally entered the Milky Way en masse.
Also the Necrons could also be counted as the last army, because of their resurgence from their long dormant tomb worlds.
The Squats were an abhuman species, along with Rattlings and Ogryns and such. They were originally human colonists from the original human empire in the Dark Age of Technology that colonized the center of the galaxy and over time, due to the planet's high gravity, they evolved into dwarves.
I've been into this stuff for way too long.

Impressive.
I was thinking in terms of tabletop releases.
It's a horrible shame that they couldn't do tyranids justice in DoW.
I hope there will be defining chapters this time, I don't particularly enjoy Blood Ravens or Chaos Undivided..
Some dark angels/crusaders or some obscure chapter would be nice.
As well as a large array of chaos armies...

Well if its a Relic game they're going to use the Blood Ravens, since it was a chapter they invented for their games, with the exception of Winter Assault which used the Ultramarines. I've never had a problem with the Blood Ravens Chapter, I kind of like the fact that they are a chapter bent on collecting knowledge, yet they know almost nothing of their founding.
As for Chaos, Relic has been all across the spectrum in terms of representation. Honestly they're best sticking with Chaos Undivided to better fit in with the Essence Engine, because that way they can use the doctrine ability to go into Chaos god specific fields, that way players can play according to whatever Chaos god they want.
The engine that Relic is using has a lot of potential, and I think Dawn of War 2 is going in the right direction.

They aren't clouds per se, but warp storms emit immaterial ripples throughout real space due to the strong presence of the warp. They create things similar to a nebula in appearance, so over a planet it could resemble a cloud, but in reality its actually a super natural leak into real space.

People actually don't like those specific two posters? What a shock.Frater Perdurabo wrote:People actually PM you to NMA posts? swell guy : (
Aren't you surprised more posts don't get wastelanded though?
I could adhere completely to the rules and throw more than half of all content in the NMA. Instead I take the things that go against the common set of rules and annoy me the most, because I get to.
In the end, if anyone wants to say that I'm being self-righteous and an asshole, then go ahead. At some point I will edit or move the post, but most know to keep it to smartass comments, which don't even begin to scratch my skin.
