Just thought I'd Offer my twobits, as I am an Oldschool RPGer and some of my favorites weren't mentioned yet...

1 Fallout 1 & 2
2 Wasteland (circa 1987)
3 Ultima V Warriors of Destiny
4 Civ series
5 Master of Orion 1 & 2 (but definetly not MOO3 - It sucked)
6 Streetfighter II
7 Super Mario Cart 1 & 2
8 Tony Hawk Skateboarding series

#5 - qfFe - I picked up 3 out of the bargain bin only because I enjoyed 1 and 2 so much about 8 or 10 years ago, and words can't describe just how absolutely awful that game was, even with GOOD GRAFFFIIXXX

I know exactly what you mean, it went from running and micromanaging and empire to being the bureaucracy that had to process everything happening instead of really controlling your expansion and military and whatnot, the HUD was too fucking much and you still couldn't do enough gameplay wise.

I was sorely disappointed with the third, which I had been really looking forward to during its development because, tell you the truth, the only game I that I could ever say I was ever addicted to was Moo2: Battle of Antares; spent an entire summer playing it the during the first year it was out way back when.
