No, not really. We'd just get saved by carpet-bombing, which is pretty much a lose-lose situation. We're on our own, always have been. I wouldn't mind European co-operation, but we don't need another super power to come tell us what to do

I'd rather join the lines personally and loose a limb than see a day when NATO forces roam the streets.

Last I checked it was non-Americans who still did carpet-bombing. The Americans have precision strike weapons by the hundred-thousand.

And you might lose more than a limb; a whole province or your entire country might go.

And seriously, I don't see how replacing one super power next door with a super power occupying my country could make things better in the long run. You can call them bad guys, yourselves the good guys, but actually they are doing exactly the same. It's just a matter of perspective. I wouldn't mind being side by side with other "minor" nations of Europe (including midgets like Germany and France), though.
