Has anyone passed this military fuck base with the turret. When you leave the swamps to meet Cordon the first time you have to pass these Yahoos.
Everytime I try I die.. cant get passed that damn turret.
Any suggestions on how to survive that? was ducking between trees and taking out the men they sent after me but that didnt last all that long before the turret fucker gets a shot on me.

have you found any?

I didn't have any trouble with the MG in Cordon. Followed the fence to the right until I got to the buildings w/ the MG nest, stabbed a few dudes and stole their guns (scored a few pistols and two different assault rifles ). There were too many of them for me to wipe out the entire base, so I hightailed it out of there and went to that trader in the starting location of the previous game.
Right now I'm at the very end of the game. I don't have any medpacks or bandages, so I'm having some trouble with the very final confrontation.
Mr. Snake: There's a clock in the lower left corner of the screen when you have the inventory up. Also, the detector you get when you start the game is useless. You can buy a fairly decent one for 1500RU or so from most traders.

You have to hide behind the rocks, go under the tree, then hide behind the other tree and go towards the trader. You should be fine, takes a while to figure out.
Oh and it is 1.5.04, and no matter what i do it still stalls, so i am going to try to make it all the way to the next map by hopping through saves, then i will save and see if it works. It bugs out 30 secs after each time i load, even if i save it just does it 30 secs from THAT save. soghey, and i cant find the address to submit my bug report to, cause it tells me my outlook is fuckulated.

Yes, the patch rapes your saves and then buries them under a big pile of incompatible.
The new patch fixes the broken ass AI to a slightly less broken state, but i must say i am actually VERY impressed with this game, i am betting that THIs is exactly what they wante when they started making plain stalker. Just with no load screens. The swamp would be a good example of an area that would have gone in their perfect vision of the game. The darkness is perfect, the ai is SUPER inteligent when it is not leaking memory and stalling and the faction war thig is very cool. Though i did kill ALL the bandits but the still seem to be there. Which sux cause i fucking SWEAR i put a slug through the leader's pip with a hunting rifle.

Just got the game, patched 'er up, and it seems the very first quest (respond to the call for help or whatever) in the swamp is bugged. All the mutants are dead, but the guy on tower just sits there with his gun pointed at the ground and he won't respond to me in any way... And he won't die either.
Deja Vu...

As I've read somewhere before, this version of the game does not have that 'I'm alone in an evil place and danger hides behind every corner'-type of vibe, but rather a 'let's join a group to kill another group'-thing...can't put my finger on it, but it's different than the previous game.
That does not mean I don't like it. The transport (fast travel) and the weapons system is neat, the AI seems to be a bit smarter. All in all a nice prequel.
But it's even buggier than the first one! As spokomptonjdub mentioned, the scripting is hopelessly fucked. I first took the 'left' route in the beginning of the swamp, which triggered the right actions on the mutants and the guy in the tower, but when the blowout came and I 'died', it seemed that I did something wrong and had to start over. This might seem dumb, but the situation as you get out of bed is exactly the same as in the beginning of the game and the quest update is also similar.
Anyway, for my second try I decided to take the 'right' path, which led me to the tower but it didn't trigger any event.
Another weird thing is the so-called 'travel bug'. I can't travel from Cordon to the Garbage because when I'm at the area where you can change maps, I get the 'Do you want to travel to Garbage'-screen but it only has a 'Yes'-button. When I click that, it seems to work as the 'No'-button would! So I'm stuck at the Cordon. Anyone has an idea how to solve this?

Just restart the game. The guy should say something when you approach the tower.spokomptonjdub wrote:Just got the game, patched 'er up, and it seems the very first quest (respond to the call for help or whatever) in the swamp is bugged.
