Chris Taylor, Fallout MMO, and the Interplay Website
[ Company -> Update ]

Interplay has launched a brand new website along with the announcement that Chris Taylor will be working on super-secret MMO "Project V13." What this game could be, we may never know:

The company also announced that Chris
Taylor, a game designer who was a part of the original Fallout game
development team at Interplay in 1994, has rejoined the company. Taylor
will serve as Lead System Designer for “Project V13,” the working title
of Interplay’s next generation Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO)
currently in development. Taylor joins other original Fallout team
members on staff at Interplay’s internal game studio, which recently
opened an office in Irvine, Calif. Additional development staff members
continue to be hired as the project ramps-up.

V13...hmmm...rings a bell.

Known original Fallout devs who are back at Interplay working on Fallout Online are Jason Anderson and Chris Taylor. There might be more.

Not really since interplay is in no position to construct and maintain an MMORPG even with outside funding of 30 million. I'm pretty sure if they want to compete in the market they need a lot more money and a lot more developers with experience in MMORPGs. They are still building a team so I can't even really guess what type of release date they are looking at.senisterdenister wrote:I don't mean to sound optimistic, but if its headed and developed by original creators, doesn't that give it a big enough margin not to suck?

i think even the old fallout engine as the main MMO engine for fallout online would be suitable. But hey, i think they want to stay in the game. they are probably going to push for new 3d graphics at a higher standard than Fallout 3beta(interplay). It sounds interesting, i really dont care what view they use, 3rd person shoulder and first person is very immersive. But the isometric view is also alot more, say,gives a more fallouty feeling. and tactical too. i dont care though.
