Did try it also, on the huge western hemisphere map. Sucks there are no realistic starting positions though : I went with the french and started in Brazil :/

Same. But wait for the Age of Discovery II mod to be completed, and it's gonna be awesome.

It's pretty good but it got lost amongst a bunch of other stuff I have to do. Hopefully I'll get to it back later, as it is timeless, like any Civ game.

I liked Civ better honestly. As Mismatch said, it's lacking in depth.
