From what I remember, Bethesda has the rights to Fallout 3, 4, 5 ... right?

So could Interplay just start making Fallout 6 right now?

Is there some rule that says they have to go in numerical order?

No, Bethesda later bought the rights for the whole franchise. Interplay still got FOOL.

Right. Interplay can only make FOOL. Otherwise, Fallout is wholly Bethesda's now.

And Interplay can only keep the FOOL license if they raise enough cash (what was it, $1mil?) in another year or so. Otherwise it reverts to Bethsoft.
