28 Months Later?

You probably remember 28 Days Later, a well made flick set in Britain just after an apocalypse caused by a virus turning people into rather vigorous zombie-like monsters. Then a different director made 28 Weeks Later, which was not quite as great. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000965/">Danny Boyle</a>, who directed the first film and produced the second one, has recently <a target="_blank" href="http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.ph ... culated</a> that he could make a threequel:

I loved 28 days later and really liked the sequel as well. It's always fun to play around with the zombie genre, but on the other hand, it's a real pain for any director to come up with a "traditional" movie that also has something (innotavive) new content worth watching.

28 Weeks Later was shit, except for the first part, which was directed by Danny Boyle anyway. I watched 28 Days later a month or so ago after watching the 2nd one, and it just shits all over it.

I found weeks to be a rather bad flick, even tho' carlisle was in it. Days was rather neat on the other hand.

Weeks gets shit on plenty and very unduly. It isn't an original concept, neither is any sequel, so of course it doesn't live up to the first. What Weeks DOES do, however, is take a solid intellectual property, continue the storyline without stepping on any toes, entertain thoroughly and make a fairly well stated commentary on Bush Era US foreign policy (not to mention the surveillance paranoia of modern Britain). So, all in all a fucking successful film.

Weeks seemed way too hollywood, and some of those people did the stupidest things - seriously, a guy who lived through the zombiepocalypse is really going to kiss his (mildly) insane wife?

Uh, Pip, that was announced in like March '07. Like right around 28 Weeks Later's release. Boyle sucks at remembering his own interviews.
