Left 4 Dead

The demo is out for like 6 days till the game gets released. I was somewhat looking forward to it but after playing the game it feels like a fan made mod but at full price. Anyone else try it yet?

Been playing it a bit with friends on hardest difficulty. It's pretty shitty, with pub randoms, but overall quite fun.

I think its one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played, but it might just be because I've only played through it once or twice so far, but the gameplay gets pretty intense, and the AI seems smart enough. Also, I think the animations in the game are some of the most fluid I've ever seen. Seeing zombies charge you looks as real as it can get animation wise. The game has a good mix of speed and gameplay, which after you up the difficulty really helps you feel like you're a trying to survive in a real zombie apocalypse. I have high hopes for this game, and as I've already pre-ordered it, I can't wait to play the full thing.

So for now, I'm giving the game a 9/10, only because the single-player is the exact same as the multiplayer minus human team mates.

I would really enjoy to see someone make a real campaign out of this, it would be so easy to make a 28 Days Later type campaign, I think.

Isn't that the idea of it? The full game has like 4 campaigns/series of maps in it. With some 5 maps each. No idea if they're interconnected though.

A game hyped as a zombie survival, but in fact, it's more of a zombie serious sam...

If it was actual zombie survival it would've been sick, but as they progressed into it and I learned more, yeah, basically zombie serious sam.

I pretty much always expected it to be a cross of Sven Co-op and Zombie Panic. And thats how it came out really. I just hate those cunt Tank zombie things.

full version came out this afternoon, and I've been playing it pretty heavily with my mates. Versus mode is plenty of fun, with organised combos/tactics between zombies having really awesome results (incapacitating 3/4 survivors at once while the final guy gets mobbed by zombies is awesome when it actually works). It's alot more fun playing as a zombie then a surv.

How do you think the game would be if none of your mates play?

Honestly, it's fun when there's just decent players. I do most of my gaming with my friends simply because they can pick up a game and grasp it pretty quickly and not be horribly shit at it. I had a game today on my own with just randoms who knew what they were doing and it's fun regardlss. It's just frustrating/not so fun when you're partied with idiots who have no idea what they're doing/can't aim/waste nades/etc.

A steam group needs to happen. Been playing most of today (on account of 3 feet of snow falling in one day and shutting down the whole area) with some friends and I can't get enough.

Do a group search for #fallout. However, Nicolai needs to kick the fucking spam bots that have joined it D;

Great fun with friends. If you think it's serious sam, then it's because you're not playing it against people. Now, that's horror survival, zombies that can think.
