much like management issues - or having it go to the "contact us" forum instead?

Reasons would be few, I'm sure - "surprise" news when members post, rather than having multiple views and half the people losing interest in the story by the time it's posted in the news section

It's not a bad idea...it's better to have it just go to a contact form like the link on the main page. I'll turn this into a poll. If at least 10 people vote in the poll, and more than half say yes, then I'll hide the Submit News Forum and make it so that submitting news can be done only by the form.
