The Pitt details revealed

Post by King of Creation »

[ Game -> Interview ] - More info on Game: Fallout 3: The Pitt

Planet Fallout has interviewed The Pitt Senior Producer Jeff Gardiner and revealed some information about the upcoming DLC.

Tell us about the art direction of The Pitt, will it be a unique and recognizable area?

It’s very unique. Pittsburgh isn’t bombed out, so it’s collapsing under
years of decay and neglect. The Raiders that have take over have
propped up the area with sheet metal catwalks and their typical
displays of flayed corpses and spray paint. The smog from the still
working steal factory looms overhead, its blue black smoke contrasting
the red and orange hues of the building below.

So why will your character travel to Pittsburgh, what's the motivation?

The Pitt opens with the player encountering an escaped slave from
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The slave, Werhner, claims that the leader of
“the Pitt” has created a cure for mutations… Once inside the Pitt the
player will take on the role of a Slave – they’ll have to find work,
and figure out how to gain audience with raider boss. From there things
could start to devolve depending heavily on how the player chooses to
proceed.

We heard there will be an Arena, Mad Max style. Can you tell us more about that part of the DLC?

At a certain point in the quest the player will have to prove their
worth and fight a series of battles in the Pitt, a fighting area
situated underneath the Steel Mill. Raiders climb the fence above the
pitt as the player is challenged variety of foes. Each fight starts
with barrels of toxic radiation being dropped down, which adds an
additional element of tension. Depending on the player’s previous
choices and allegiances, they’ll have different weaponry and other
unique items at their disposal.

Any hints about what can we expect on the third DLC?

It’s the best of the best – raised level cap, lots of new high end
weaponry and armor, and tons of tweaked and new creatures. Plus a whole
new quest line, and new ending to the game. It’s pure awesomeness.

This sounds much better than that Operation Ancorage DLC. I'm hoping since this is like a premo side quest they will really be able to flesh out the choice and consequences for atleast the few hours that it should last. I have a feeling your going to be fighting a lot of raiders though.

Hopefully this DLC doesn't end up as a clusterfuck.

Again, fuck these DLC packs. Not only do they make a game with a shitty ending, but then you have to buy all three of their packs to fix the problem. Bethesda is full of knuckleheads.
