The Pitt Released with Many Issues

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

<strong>[ Game -> Update ]</strong>

<p>The Pitt was released today but it seems that there was so many issue with it that they are trying to take it down and put a fixed one up.</p><blockquote><em>Fallout 3 developer Bethesda has issued a statement on the reported issues.
</em><p><em>"As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox
Live was somehow corrupted," marketing VP Pete Hines told Shacknews. </em></p><p><em>"We are continuing to look into the issues people are
experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360," he added. "We are currently
working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to
prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new
file as soon as possible."
</em></p></blockquote><p> Probably want to wait on it if you were planning on getting the DLC. Read the full story <a target="_self" href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57809">here.</a>

Oh, nice... thought they scrapped it when they were working on that one psych-thriller about the guy in the coastal town / mental asylum. Can't seem to remember what it was called, but Sam Lake seemed to be occupied with it.

Alan Wake > Max Payne 3. And the original face is still the most legendary one.

PC version of The Pitt is apparently fine; I'm illegally downloading it now.

Probably wouldn't bother if it weren't for the setting, though.

Well, I just got it and it seems kind of buggy even on the Xbox. Since I've installing the patch the game now kind of jerks every 3 seconds in the wasteland even after I cleared my cache, it seemed to have gone away after a bit though. I've also had my first encounter with like a dialog not being spoken and my disc going all crazy, maybe its my repaired xbox but this was on the new content of the DLC. Of minor stuff are some wacked out animation after a death like some thing was doing some break dancing on a black background while doing a 50 foot drop of a roof and a NPC continuing to attack a dead character.

Kind of sad that they could release a small expansion pack and not catch shit like this. So far the content seems okay but I haven't gotten far. I need to tell DACK my latest impressions of it.

My impression is the quest line in it actually feels like something you'd find in a Fallout game, though there is some Bethesda ridiculousness (like ingot collecting and the ammo press).

What they included in the pack was fine, though they should have just called it The Mill and dumped said mill into an empty part of the capitol wasteland - the only accessible part of Pittsburgh is a steel mill, and although the topography around this fictional place is okay, your world map shows the entire city of Pittsburgh but you only have access to about the third of the city. I see the UPMC building and PPG place in the distance and yearn to go there, but the game won't let me.

There's a ton of stuff between Pittsburgh and DC; more wasteland map would mean they needed a lot more content and it would take for-fucking-ever. As stupid as it is, there's a metro tunnel with a hand-pumped railcart in the north of the DC map, and using it gives you a pop-up text box that reminded me of the old Fallouts in that it was an actual description of your surroundings, then you're delivered into a bombed-out and depleted Station Square that somehow lost all the buildings surrounding it after the war.
