As I said in the Total krieg thread I bought 4 books on my beloved (?) reich.
Die SS - Eine Warnung der Geschichte
Le Soldat Oublié
The Nazies. A warning from history
Das Buch Hitler
Gotten about halfway through the SS book. Lots of photos and interesting trivia about the absurd way the boys in black operated. Good reading.
The second one is a biography(?) about a guy called Guy Sajer who fought in the Wehrmacht from beginning to end.
The Nazies, warning, history. Probably the same old same old, but it was cheap as shit thanks to the Mammoth sale at my local bookstore.
The Hitler book (book four) is about some documents (interrogation transcripts) found in the russian vault o' secrets. The germans were caught at the end of the war and apparantly stalin did not believe the Hitler suicide story. Looking forward to a good read.
...any recommendations? Non fiction only. :kthanksheil:

Simplistic and wrong. The "arrogant street thugs" were the main reason the NSDAP got as many votes as they did, because of the somewhat brutal way they got people to vote. Röhm on the other hand was gay, yes, but I hardly think that had any impact on his judgement, and he was quite sertainly a well liked leader among quite a large part of the german para-millitairy political movement at the time. His abilities to lead were never questioned, he only showed that he was not as cold a backstabber as Hitler was.
You have only proven one thing, and that is that you are more of a homophobe than 1930s germans. Huzzah!
Discussing this with an idiot is no fun. End of thread.

Pretty good book on the 3rd SS Totenkopf Division. Plenty of first hand accounts and whatnot.
Weird title for a book, but sounds like a good buy, first hand accounts are the best, Just like in the book "Rome 44". I'm currently reading "All the Kasiers Men".
