Borderlands Gets Dated Kinda
[ Game -> Update ]

Haven't been following the game too hard but I know a few of you are looking forward to it. Looks like it will be October this year;

Developer Gearbox Software is targeting an October release for its
post-apocalyptic shooter-RPG Borderlands, the studio told Shacknews
during a recent interview.

Originally expected last year, the game was then pushed into 2009, with publisher Take-Two Interactive merely stating that it would arrive no later than October 31, 2009.

Apparently, in the future where we live every game is a first-person shooter, no matter what it's about or what the genre may be.
Let's see, from the games I've played recently:
The Witcher - grim fantasy FPS
Fallout 3 - grim post-apocalyptic FPS
Bioshock - retro-future Objectivist-trashing FPS
Gears of War 2 - grim-gay buddy soldier FPS
And these are supposed to be the great games of our generation?
I'm bored. I think I'll play some CthulhuTech instead.

They were all essentially first-person shooters. It doesn't matter if the camera can be placed above your shoulder, you're still firing a gun/hacking with a sword/blasting with magic fireballs from eye-level. That's a FPS to me.PiP wrote:Witcher FPS? What did you smoke?
