I'm curious: How many of you wear glasses? I do.

I wear glasses most of the time and contacts some of the time. Being near-sighted sux but I learn to live with it.

GG, you know when I got contacts a few years ago, the doc tried to scare me away from it by showing me those gross pictures of people with their corneas all fucked up and weird diseases from not taking care with contacts. That is one reason I don't wear them too much - yeccchhh!

Don't need glasses.

My vision has gotten worse but it isn't to the point where I need glasses yet though.

Terrible tales concerning cons:

A person who didn't take off the lense woke up to find it stuck inside the skull.

Another one go BBQ with contact lense on, con melted and stuck on the cornea.

this happened to me, luckily, it was still stuck to the back of my eye, and i can roll my eyes alot. I rolled em just enough to get the edge of the contact out, then i grabbed it.

i was going tubing behind some freind's boat and a bead of water hit my eye and knocked the contact straight back.

I wear glasses. I need some new ones soon, but probably not for a while. I definitely need new frames, because I have had these for a very long time, and they are some POS from Wally World, because there is literally no other place around. I need to drive for more than two hours to find a half decent place. Grr...

I might get that laser surgery, but I have heard from some doctors I know that I might want to wait and see about the long term effects of it... :?

i think i'll wait too, at least until 25. you're eyes change most when you're young, and old, so i figure, get it once im not young anymore.

plus by then they'll have reports on the long-term stuff.

Yuck... good thing I wasn't eating anything when I read that...

I was going to get laser surgery (might be able to someday), but one of my eye's cornea keeps "sliding" (as the doc called it) to form a point. They can't do anything till it stops :(

Forget what the condition is called... myeyessuckmajor syndrome for all I know...

Forgot to add a "contacts" option to the poll, oh well.

JD: Of course I knew. But she's the kind who won't even laugh at the funniest joke. Quite a reliable person.

Hm, laser treatment. As far as I've heard it's not as sound as it seems, not lasting. And there are side effects too. So, I myself have never consider that option.

No spectacles yet. Though I'll need ones soon. Ah well, I guess that's the price you have to pay for staring at the screen for hundreds of hours. 8O

CBR, I'm in my 30's. I had my eyes checked when I got my contacts a few years ago. I've been wearing glasses since I was probably 8 y/o.

I had these "correction glasses" several years ago. I used them for couple of years and then *TA-DAA* my eyes were cured and I saw everything clearer... Plus my eyes didn't start to ache so easily they used to.

Don't have a "hawk eyes" really, because watching the monitor literally *eats* my sight away. But my vision's still in a better condition than it was before wearing those spectacles.
