30,000 Mile Tune-Up.

Took the Taurus in this morning for its 30,000 mile tune-up. The bastards at the first place were asking $650. Took it to the dealership and they said $600. Fucking insane prices.

Back in December (2,000 miles ago) I asked about the price and it was only $250.

Have prices seriously more than doubled on car work in the past seven months? What the hell, mang?

Our other car is due next week for it's big tune-up. Looks like it will have to wait another year..(6,000 miles).

Anyone else having rather mundane maintenance bite you in the ass? Last year the estimate on replacing the roof on our house was $3000. This year it's $7000. Fuck this economy, I'd rather be a hermit.

That seems kind of high for a 30,000 tune up but I have noticed our car place has been charging more and doing extra shit to pad the cost that they used to not do.

It's really not hard, the Haynes manuals are very detailed. As long as you can read your good to go.

probably, depends on where you live. I think they are part of the reason the economy is shit in the first place. But as long as you can get the roof fixed, who cares. lol

ive got a 5.0 im mad maxing,
(gutting and installing a roll cage) , im dropping a 460 in it with a 871 blower hooke to an electric clutch so i and engage it when i so choose.
