MP3 File Names

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

MP3 File Names

Post by ExtremeDrinker »

So what format do you like your file names?

For individual artist albums, I prefer Artist - Album - Track - Title.mp3
For compilation/VA albums, I prefer Album - Track - Artist - Title.mp3

I'm with V. Keeping organization simple and easy to use quickly makes things move more efficiently

Honestly, I purchased 85% of my music and ripped the CDs myself...I used to work at a record shop and got a damn good discount.

I'm glad to see Mega is a Young Maylay fan.

Before I used uTorrent I downloaded all the music individually, so I never kept them organized, but since then I download by album instead of by tracks, so now I follow the Artist/Album/Tracks format.

I just use Windows Media Player, which keeps everything organized enough as it is.

I'm all about the iTunes, which organizes itself for the most part. Most of the MP3s I download have fucked-up song titles or a missing artist field, so I'll fill in whatever info is missing. I also hate misidentified songs/artists (eg. "Better Days" being credited to Sublime instead of Citizen King), so somtimes I'll do a quick Wiki lookup to make sure the artist/song is correct. I'm a little OCD about my music.

I need no recordings. The memories suffice. :drunk:
