ME MAKE GAME OF YEAR
[ Game -> Update ]

For all you guys who have been holding out on getting FO3 to wait for it to come bundled with the DLC, here is your chance;

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition will arrive on October 13, Bethesda
today announced along with news that its DLC will hit the PlayStation 3
thick and fast from September 24.

The GotY edition of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG includes all
five batches of its downloadable content and will be priced at $50 on
PC and $60 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3--50 and 60 Euros respectively
in Europe.

PlayStation 3 DLC--originally scheduled for late June--will
finally begin arriving from September 24 when Broken Steel is released,
which crucially continues the game beyond its original ending. October
1 will see the release of 'Operation: Anchorage' and 'The Pitt' packs,
while 'Point Lookout' and 'Mothership Zeta' will arrive on October 8.

Bethesda paved the way for the PS3 DLC with an update which
"addresses a number of issues, includes some optimizations, and adds
trophy support for the DLC."

Too bad that the DLC is even worse than the main game.

Probably what you said, any magazine willing to nominate or declare your game as GOTY is enough. I've never heard of actual awards or a board that decides anything like that.Wolfman Walt wrote:I wonder what exactly it takes for you to make a "Game of the year" edition? Like, does just one magazine have to vote your game for game of the year or is there like a quota or something?
Testicular Pugilist
There are no real awards by a designated organization, like the Screen Actors Guild, or Oscars, or w/e - each publication and organization can make a completely subjective award.
Which allows for a lot of shit like movies used to do in the US - "Joe Smith of the Backwoods Cedar Ridge Township Newspaper gives movie X two thumbs up! Five stars!"

It's the MTV music awards of video games. I guess that means the video game equivalent of Twilight wins everything all the time.

Why don't we make our own game of the year award?! I suppose it would have to be post-apoc game of the year, as thats the general theme around here, but why not?!
Ok so I just read the post above mine. I agree with Dutch
I'll do a podcast award show evenz!

Well we already had the DAC Awards, but those awards were just user-awards (best poster, spammiest twit, etc). If we do a real awards thing at the end of the year, I'm sure Sardine Man will probably win something.VasikkA wrote: DAC awards, huh? That's a fine idea, but hardly a pinnacle of suspense presuming that Killa sweeps the awards every year.
