WWII is so yesterday
But I still am in the mood for a PC game for it - especially for one similar to East Front II. I loved East Front II as a kid, despite it being one of the games that the internet has apperently forgot, but have a hard time getting it to run nowadays. Anyone know of any similar games that are a bit more recent? My searches thus far have shown up as being pretty blank. K tanks guyz.
Steel Panthers 1/2/3, Panzer Generals 1/2, etc?

Turn-based, eh? Had fun with Operational Art of War 3 a couple of years back. Superb single-player. I've been out of the strategy loop lately but I don't think I've missed anything.

Actually I ment Turn Based Stategy, but all these suggestions are good. I think I'm gonna try to get myself a copy of Panzer Generals 3/3D.senisterdenister wrote:Yeah, but he's talking about Eastern Front WW2 games.
Anyone ever check out World War II Online? I was looking at Wikipedia and was not only suprised to see that game was still running (it came out back when I was like in Grade school) but actually looks pretty damn nice nowadays. I used to have a friend who was crazy over it, but never checked it out, but lately I've been thinking of seeing if it's any good.

Apart from graphics, these games (and the Talonsoft X Front games) haven't been topped yet.jetbaby wrote:Steel Panthers 1/2/3, Panzer Generals 1/2, etc?

PG 2 has better mechanics and is more fun. It actually looks better too despite not being 3D. The rendered maps and units still look good. And still has a robust community cranking out custom mods, maps and campaigns.

PG2 was by far the best, that game was mindblowing. I had my copy stolen. Kind of broke my heart. Steel Panthers discs all disappeared years ago. Tragedy, for certain.
