Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.
So I'm working on The Men Who Stare At Goats and its pretty darn good. Very funny. I like it.
Also working on Under The Dome by Stephen King. I think we can all take for granted the fact the he's a pretty overrated writer. His dialogue is wack and his endings are usually less than... good... but he's still a nice break from the classic English romance bullshit I've been working on for school.
Robotech: the book, (or trilogy of books), i have the 1987 print with all three on softcover. This interpretation instantly captures your attention with a gore scene not found in the anime adaptation, but it follows the exact same story.
A+ for effort, it eases you into the story with flowing action then into an overall boring teenage sap story that fills 5 chapters later.
it's different from Stalker the game. I'm also doubtful whether a translation into English or similar language can be good - you'll lose some of the taste. Well to some degree that's what normally happens in translations but this time it might be a bigger degree.

how did you manage do get ahold of the film? I cought it once on Polish TV. I felt it focused on the main 'message' without down-to-earth shizzle but the result was doubtful. Which remids me that Lem said that Tarkowski was an idiot (when shooting his Solaris)
interesting; I just searched for it at the British amazon - issued when the game already caused some stalker-hype(2002), as I thought. I think I was looking for the film prior to that, or perhaps this title was just not available in Poland then.

I never really read Gogol but I saw The Government Inspector when I was in my teens and enjoyed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzehTcIMzp4
How do you find it as a westerner?
