Fallout 3 Should Have Been Like This - AMIRIGHT?
<strong>[ Community -> Editorial ]</strong>
<p>This newspost doesn't really have anything to do with <em>Fallout</em> news, but I thought it was pertitent to bring to everyone's attention.</p>
<p>It turns out that <strong><em>Deus Ex 3</em></strong> is currently in the works, and it might be a PC exclusive game. Why only PC? <a href="http://bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?a ... 3">Because consoles are too dumb</a>.</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>In a report about a story on <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/square- ... tics">Edge Online</a> about <strong>Deus Ex 3</strong>, <a href="http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/200 ... ech.net</a> adds the following statement: "It has been confirmed that the game is a cyberpunk prequel to the first game though and that it won't be getting a console release due to the complexity of the game," though the source of this information about the action/RPG sequel is not listed. If true, PC exclusivity would certainly be in line with Eidos Montreal's prior statement that <a href="http://bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?a ... adid=96918" target="_self">Deus Ex 3 will be more like the original Deus Ex</a>. The comment is not part of the <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/news/square- ... tics">Edge Online</a> story, which is about Square Enix doing the cinematics for the game: "Deus Ex 3 is going to be the first project which will be a concrete product of joint effort between Square Enix and Eidos," says Eidos Montreal's Stephane D'Astous. "The cinematics—by which I mean any CGI pre-rendered cinematics — are going to be done in Tokyo by Square Enix, and that's going to be amazing."</em></p>
</blockquote>
<p>Obviously, <em>Fallout</em> fans have A LOT to gripe about with <em>Fallout 3</em>. It was extraordinairily dumbed down as a result of being developed on the XBox 360 rather than the PC. This move by Eidos, if it turns out to be true, could signal a bit of a return to the classic pillars of PC gaming.</p>

i have always wanted to play Deus Ex. I remember, when i was a kid, getting computer games magazines and gawking at the advertisements for Deus Ex, but didnt think it was worth my money (brand new). Then i got Deus Ex: the invisible war a few years later in a cheapy bin at Game stop for 3$. It was pretty fun, i think those 3 dollars were well spent, it had an intriguing plot to it. But after playing that, i dont think i could handle looking at the outdated 3d graphics, they are just. If i had a choice, i would much rather play 2d isometric than 3D. I think the 3D back then was waaay to blocky. Even at the time, when those 3D things came out, i didnt like them. Its just becasue it is grotesque.
Well now i guess i can enjoy Deus Ex, but with pleasing visuals. Maybe,(im not even hoping anymore.)

Come on guyze, the graphics in Deus Ex are not THAT bad. The experience is well worth it.
Before you start playing, I remember there being a lot of mods out there. I cannot remember their specific content, but you should probably play the unmodded game first.
I hated Deus Ex: IW, just found it really boring and obviously the console-y feeling was a massive turnoff, but if the new one coming out now will be PC only, I will buy it without hesitation. Partially for that, and partially because Deus Ex one was just THAT good, and if they follow the same formula, there is A LOT more that they can still do with it.

Yes, they are. But it only goes to prove that a game with shitty graphics can still be an excellent experience.Frater Perdurabo wrote:Come on guyze, the graphics in Deus Ex are not THAT bad.
Loved the first, hated the second. I still install both from time to time to try them in a different way.

Oh come on, don't be such a pussy. I know from experience that anytime I go to an "earlier" game or a game with worse graphics there is an initial period of "wow, this looks like shit," but then as I play further I forget about it and don't even notice it any more, provided it has engaging gameplay. Deus Ex does, so you should definitely play it.OriahUlrich wrote:i have always wanted to play Deus Ex. I guess it's just a difference in standard. As long as it is as good as Doom, I don't really care.Smiley wrote:Yes, they are. By the way, the lot of you should give the latter a try, an outstanding installment in the FPS series (I am talking about Doom and Doom II).
Amazing and tons of fun.
I wouldn't go that far. I would go farther. If you haven't played Wolfenstein 3D you are a foolish, hopeless case of a console kiddo.Kashluk wrote:I have this habit of calling people who haven't played DOOM 'foolish children', for that's all they are. Tru dat. I actually found out about Wolfenstein after playing Doom 1, but before playing Doom 2. Classics, all classics.VasikkA wrote:I wouldn't go that far. I would go farther. Doom 2 was the first computer game I ever played. I was so impressed that I got up at like 7am the next day to go and play some more (I think I was 6 or 7 at the time).Kashluk wrote:Tru dat.
