Writing-wise I agree, but I turned into a fanboy and rapidly devour anything new. Herbert wrote up until the 6th book I think before he died. But yeah, his son and the other guy aren't nearly as good.

Anderson. That's his name. Man, if there was a writer that I've ever wanted to punch in the face, it's him.

Regardless, though, the Dune trait idea was a good one.

Lol.
Herbert managed to get a similar feel out of his writing that several other authors did around the 80s. I prefer the more classic styles myself, but the newer shit has its points I suppose.
I miss the good ol' USSA.

Game Boy: Actually makes SPECIAL and other stats matter during the course of the game besides being superficial numbers like in the previous installment.

I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed Dune 5 and 6 immensely perhaps even more so than 2 and 3. Four was just all around hard to like. I never bothered with his sons books cause of how bad I heard they were

Mr Snake's Unlikely Victory: Allows you to just keep saying you've won everything until people just blindly agree. Incredibly low success rate.

How bout a Rat Pack inspired perk

I thought of one similar to the "Mysterious Stranger" perk

a reinvented version of it and it goes like this:

1.A ghostly apparition reminiscent of any member of The Rat Pack who squeezes off some rounds into your target.of course with some crooning tune as background music.

Do these glasses and my two chins make me look sexy?

I want perks that actually change the game. Perks that actually give you new abilities. Like a sprint perk, or make V.A.T.S a perk you need to take. I for one want a bullet curve perk. I know there are mods for this kind of stuff, but I've never been able to successfully install mods.

Another good one is the "go outside" perk. You don't even need the disc!

Actually, excuse the double-post, but I just had an idea for a perk. Remember the tallying lists of kills in the old games? Kept track of everything your person massacred? What about perks introduced after you kill a certain amount of enemies?

I.E.:
Respected (250 Raider Kills):
Slaughtering raiders has earned you a mantle similar to the boogeyman in their circles. Raiders will not attack first, and raider merchants are open to trading with you. Raiders you've engaged in combat only carrying considerably weaker weapons will flee.

Shift in the Food Chain (500 critter kills):
You've wiped out enough members of each animal kingdom that you've become recognized as a predator. All critters with the exception of Deathclaws will flee at detecting you. Deathclaws will not attack unless attacked first or your health is below 50%.

The New Master (250 Supermutant kills):
You've wiped enough Supermutants off the map that they recognize you as a human paragon of war. Supermutants will not attack first, are open to barter, and will flee combat if weapons on-hand are severely weaker than yours.

Forced Extinction (500 kills of _____ critter):
You're not concerned with species preservation, and have hunted _____ to extinction. You can no longer find _____ in random encounters.
