Shitty Games you had the mistfortune of playing recently
My game list of shame:
Lost Planet 2 (to be fair, I was told I could play as Wesker)
Final Fantasy 13 (Square Enix finally killed it for me)
Two Worlds (Not Bad per se, just annoying as fuck)
Gears of War 1 (No....Just no....2 isn't too bad though....)
Assassins Creed 1 (GODDAMNIT ALTAIR!!! Pull yourself up the Fucking wall!)
Perfect Dark Zero (what the hell was I thinking?)
Mass Effect 2 (asjkfhlakdhglaskdjheui!!!!!)
Bully (What this is I don't even-)
Left 4 Dead 1 (But Ilove l4d2 and am about to play the passing)

Left 4 Dead 1?! That one was 10 times better then #2. xD There were only a few good additions, like the walking witch and melee weapons.Zeba the Lie wrote:My game list of shame:

The maps sucked ass, though.

That was my problem with it. Visually, it was very impressive, and the atmosphere was well done. But the gameplay was just dull shooting, and a lot of the storyline felt compromised in order to fit the shootng sequences in. I enjoed looking at it, just not playing it.Kashluk wrote:I actually liked it for what it was: a short, interactive action story set in post-apocalyptic Moscow. I would've enjoyed it just as much as a short movie or something similar as well, though.Yonmanc wrote:Metro 2033

I actually enjoyed Borderlands for a month or 2 griefing people with insane modded guns and other made up equipment. Shoot a giant beetle and it exploded in a mushroom cloud of loot. Glad I lost interest before they released DLC and made cheating impossible.
The worst game I played recently and in the past few years was AvP3. Multiplayer is mostly basic deathmatch and has like 2 tiny maps to play on. Singleplayer is shorter and more linear than the original Doom and way fucking easy because of how slow the aliens are. The sound and graphic design is lifted straight from the terrible AvP movies, and then they deliberately skipped the most recognizable stuff even the movies got right such as alien screaming sounds and the predator heat vision. You got half as many weapons to chose from compared to the first AvP, and of those half are any good. There's a strong emphasis on melee combat, which they fucked up of course. It all comes down to holding block and mashing the mortal kombat fatality key until you grab the other guy and instant kill him. Total shit.

Eschalon II is much the same as the original. It has :pushpropbrat wrote:WTB
Impressive graphics. <strike>For an indie.</strike>
Some atmospheric music.
<strike>Turn based combat.</strike> A turn based world.
A large world to explore.
A substantial variety of skills, some of which are employed in (comparatively) novel ways, i.e : cartography, foraging and alchemy.
MAGIC.
A solidly constructed ambient lightning system.
RNG loot.
An optional sustenance system.
It also has :
Amnesia.
A variety of rats, anonymous bandits, spiders, wolves and rats to kill.
A versatile combat system, including tactics such as : hit-a-thing, hit-a-thing-again, hit-a-thing-with-MAGIC, run-away-from-a-thing and hit-a-thing-from-darkness.
Barring the rare teleportation, an inability to move faster than a languid walk.
Unimaginative art direction.
A fiercely linear and disappointingly banal plot.
An alarmingly unimaginative setting.
Thirty or so quests which rarely amount to more than walk-somewhere-kill/find-a-thing.
A cast of hundreds. Of rats.
'But thou must' NPCs. Some of whom, despite their intimations of immense personal power, are curiously unable to do any of the heavy lifting. Or walking.
MAGIC.
A large emptiness to explore. On foot.
RNG loot.
If one enjoyed the first, they may enjoy the second. Personally, I found that it championed aspects of 'old school RPGs' best left in the past. Ehue.

I got this on GOG because of numerous people saying how awesome it is. I did notice that it looks like it would best be played with a controller. I haven't actually played the game yet though.Gimp Mask wrote:same hereRetlaw83 wrote:Last bad game I played was Fallout 3. I knew it was going to be bad, but curiosity, as they say, killed the cat.
also i tried the pc port of beyond good & evil for about 20 seconds before uninstalling
I don't usually play bad games but I guess the ones I didn't really like were the single player for Bad Company 2 as it felt like any other modern FPS shooter. The multiplayer is cool but a few days after I beat the single player I couldn't actually remember if I had beat it or not so it wasn't memorable.
Only other one I could think of is Dragon Age mainly because I didn't feel like finishing it and had quite a few things that just pissed me off for some reason.
