Fallout: Online is a go!
[ Game -> Update ] - News related to Top Story: Fallout: Online is a go! | More info on Company: Interplay | More info on Game: Fallout: Online

Edit: It appears that Interplay's server went kaput presumably due to increased traffic. If you can't access the website, just wait a while and try again I suppose.

Interplay has launched a blitz of Fallout: Online media, including a new website. There is a bunch of new art and a great little flash scene on the website. You can also sign up for the Fallout: Online mailing list and register to take part in the Beta.

Whether or not this is a result of some back-room-dealings between Interplay and Bethesda over their lawsuit has yet to be determined.

Thanks very much to Frymuchan for the tip!

Nothing like a slow-moving localized apocalypse to really make you think about proper data backup procedures.

You seem to be forgetting that regardless of what the Vault Dweller did there were still at least a couple hundred super mutants left in the Wastelands by the time the Chosen One was cruising around in his fusion powered awesome car, also that Mariposa had been re-surfaced and an entirely new generation of Super Mutants had come into creation.
Perfectly reasonable why there would still be a large population (for Super Mutants) wandering around the wastes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the MMO iteration stuck to canon more than the so called direct sequels. That said, they've set the bar low enough for almost anything. After two shitty gamebryo shooters, I'd be thrilled about a Fallout-themed card game.
