Dead State: Zombie Survival RPG
Dead State: Zombie Survival RPG
Thought one of you'd notice this, but since no-one has, guess I'd bring it up.
http://www.deadstate.doublebearproductions.com/
Basic premise is you're a survivor holding out in a school, trying to keep your own group of people alive through the zombie apocalypse, typical set up. Why should you care?
-Isometric turn-based shooter
-Written by some guy who worked on VTM:Bloodlines
-AI companions who don't always follow orders (as in like real people)
-Large explorable game world
-"Compelling player choice: Players not judged by a linear morality scale"
(I smell bullshit on this last one but hey, benefit of the doubt)
Here's a pic:
I know most of you are old and/or seasoned enough to view every new game with a discerning, non hype-influenced eye, but this is (as of now) for some reason the only game coming out "in the near future" that I'm actually looking forward to.
Your thoughts?

Thanks for the update!
According to the FAQ there will only be normal slow walking zombies which is kinda lame. I'd like to see at least som special ones. Or dogs and other animals becoming zombies and what not.
But no lichkings or hyper-demon things.
Still I clearly hope zombies won't be your only enemy then. In a world of survival horror I assume humans will like to get the nice cookies you got in your pouch.
Or simply shoot you for trespassing.
Just like in Fallout that is, the zombies are the critters and the humans are the main thing.
I also wonder how the whole "zombie bite = possible infection and death" will work with turnbased isometric combat and melee weaposn which they recommend against zombies.
I mean if they use the system modern RPG's use there is always a chance to miss and a chance for the zombie to hit you and thusly a chance for you to die.
Further more as I read the FAQ it seems you must always stay close to your own shelter. There won't be any other shelters (???) it seems which you can rest at, take over or what not.
Otherwise it seems epic, it really does.
EDIT:
Ok lol it seems they are maing 6 different games at the same time, all RPG's all presumably using the same engine. Now im getting worried.

Looks cool but I await it with the same expectation that it won't come out. Using the same engine as Vault dweller for his AoD game which has been going on for years and really lost my desire to play it. Hopefully this one can actually move forward with good pace and momentum instead of get stuck in a flux of nothing like most indie games do.
