I'd rather deal with the PLR-16 myself.

It's my understanding that the 5.56 revovler is, currently, a one-of-a-kind. :(
Why such a big deal about the PLR?

Revolvers are where its at, my dad has a .38 Colt snub-nosed revolver that belonged to his dad, and it still fires pretty well for being around 40 years old.

Don't have a speedloader for it though, but I've always found revolvers to be a bit more classy than today's automatic pistols.

It’s a more practical PDW than the various AR-Variant “pistols. Not really terribly practical in my opinion, but I haven’t fired one, either.

Revolvers are really good backup weaps, but if you want to fire .38’s, get a .357 (they can load .38’s as well, but not vice-versa).

Get one, absolutely get one. Get three or four, actually. (They are not “required but make life so much simpler in the short term).

Its not my gun, and anyways as much as I like pistols I doubt I'd ever own one. I follow Skynyrd's words when it comes to handguns.

Can't help but agree with you there, mate.
It's like marrying a playmate of the year just because she's a looker. Sure, it's exciting at first, but you can bet your ass in the long run shit's gonna hit the fan.

Not universally true- There is actually ONE model of firearm that was designed specifically for SAVING lives, not taking them. (It’s the only one, but it was designed for that.)
Anyways, guins don’t kill people- People kill people. Not all of them use guns. And the possession of weap can end a situation without violence.

People kill, not guns...people+weapon=death NOT gun=death. Sorry to burst your bubble.
So by your logic, my gun will eventually turn on me, kill my family, burn a few puppies, and start a war in the middle east....yup can't help but agree with you there, mate.

You brought all that shit up, not me.
All i did was provide an open air of reasoning, you seemed to fill in the details quite nicely. Way to go.

Like the other AR-Variants, the “Bushmaster Pistol has that huge spring well. Now, if you haave the furniture to convert it to a carbine (which mainly means the stock), it’d be great- But as a pitsol, they’re not practical at all.
The PLR doesn’t strike me as all that great either, but at least the tube is gone.

Junktown you actually think handguns were designed to save people?

I think you'll fnd that Ambulances were designed to save people, handguns were designed to put them in the back of them.

Can't go hunting with a pistol besides using a magnum, any thing else is impractical. You can say you'll keep it for self defense, but why not just use a regular shotgun? Handguns are easy to conceal and are, to my knowledge, the leading cause of weapon related fatalities in the US.

You can argue that guns don't kill people, but a handgun can't be used for anything other than a weapon against people in nearly every situation. No good will come from having one, so why have it?

That’s because you don’t understand the purpose of having a gun-

The .410 gge shotgun is universally recommended for home defense. But there ARE people who go hunting with pistols.
Me, I’d only hunt for food, and then only if the Fallout world came into being, so I’m NOT keeping them for hunting.

Because having it sends a message to someone that might wish you ill- “Go start something with someone else. (Or the simpler colloquialism “Peace Through Overwhelming firepower.)

People don't know you have a pistol unless you go around telling people you've got one, otherwise it won't make a bit of difference in preventing a robbery, which usually happen during the day when most people aren't home anyway.

The logic you're using is spotty at best. Pistols are dangerous to everyone and can't be used for anything practically outside of killing people.

It depends on the game and what you're using. Squirrels and rabbits are easily taken out with a .22LR, which also happens to be found in handguns. Ammunition choice can make a difference. I've seen instances of large game being taken down with a 9mm using frangable rounds.
but why not just use a regular shotgun
Shotguns can be unwieldy in close combat situations. They're also not readily concealable. It's impractical for me to carry a shotgun with me, just as it's even more impractical for me to carry nothing while the other dude is just waiting with a knife gut me.
but a handgun can't be used for anything other than a weapon against people in nearly every situation
I own many handguns and in every situation I've used it in (That is not work related), it's just been hobby shooting. There are many situations to use a handgun and not all of them have to be killing a person.
No good will come from having one, so why have it?
Deterent for one. Fun hobby for two. There's many reasons to own one, the best you can come up with, seemingly, is that "People die from handguns," which is an interesting point as violent crime has been steadily going down since the 90's, whereas gun sales have been going up.
People don't know you have a pistol unless you go around telling people you've got one
A. Open carry laws do exist. A handgun does not neccesarily need to be concealed to be carried.
B. If you carry a weapon regularly, you can tell a lot of times if someone else is carrying. Not always, granted, but a lot of times.

Peace from what exactly? I live a pretty peaceful life, and I don't own a handgun.

Because shooting animals is far worse than shooting people?

So does not being a pussy.

-----------------------------------

Two questions for you Junk:

1) Have you ever started a fight with someone 3 times your size that you know full well could kill you without a weapon? (I have)

2) Can you name any other purpose for a handgun other than shooting people?

I ask this because, I myself enjoy air rifles, and yes, should the gun laws be less restrctive in this country I'd own a real rifle. However, I wouldn't own a handgun. Rifles have lots of uses: hunting, target shooting, protecting farm animals from foxes/wolves etc, skeet shooting. Handguns were only designed to hurt people. You can try and use them for the other things mentioned, but c'mon, really.

Again I've no problem with people here who might own handguns (cept Junk, but that's just cos he's an ass), I'm just saying, don't try and deny its use.

Yeah I'm kind of in the same vein as you, Yonmanc. I don't think it'd be practical for me to ever get one but I don't think they should be illegal.

For the record, you don't skeet shoot with rifles, that's shotgun territory.

If I cared enough I'd go and dig up the article where some fat kid down south killed some big fuckoff like six hundred pound boar with a goddamn magnum.

If I cared enough. Suffice to say it's true.
