Saw the intro elsewhere and decided to pop in for a sec.
Can't believe they're still using the Gamebryo engine, it looks pretty shit. The whole thing rubs me the wrong way.
Played bioshock 2 recently and it had more atmosphere and story in it than all of Fo3. Was actually pretty good for a linear shooter, well written.
But this just reeks of pisspoor imagination.

I'm liking the CGI graphics, reminds me of how the were in the 90's.Smiley wrote:Saw the intro elsewhere and decided to pop in for a sec.

I propose solidarity with System Shock fans, at least the ones at Shock and Cover, who're complaining about precisely the opposite.Smiley wrote:Played bioshock 2 recently and it had more atmosphere and story in it than all of Fo3. Was actually pretty good for a linear shooter, well written.
Didn't like the intro, directing's all over the place. It's even worse if this is the video that's gonna take the pre-"War never changes" spot.
Other than that, I'd pretty much decided to give this game a shot, at least it will probably fix one of Fo3's many errors (writing), the rest of them I can live with on small doses. Who knows, maybe the one mode where you need water and food might turn out to be "fun", in a totally bethesdian, faff about not doing anything interesting kind of way.

Not that surprising I guess. The idea seemed like shit to me when I heard about it, but they pulled it off pretty well all considered.Tofu Man wrote: I propose solidarity with System Shock fans, at least the ones at Shock and Cover, who're complaining about precisely the opposite.
Then again, I don't compare it to the System Shock series in any way, they have nothing in common in my opinion.
I guess it's because when I look at Bioshock, I just see a regular shooter with its on gimmicks and not anything close to System Shock, Deus Ex or anything else along the multiple choice/RPG-esque shooter genre.
Difference is though, even with that mentality you could never see Fo3 as a decent spin-off.
