Reflecting on when airtraffic was grounded due the Iceland volcano eruption ash, and of a future world without oil or aeroplanes ....got me thinking about Blimps. Zeppelins. Airships... could they be the way of the future?

So there we haf it, it is obvious to me that in 10 years we will have blimps. the big question i have for you dac is would you go on a blimp ride to amsterdam to get some fat green nugz? also; have you perhaps riden a blimp before? what is your opinion of blimps? do you have any scientific knowledge or even metaphysical poetry of blimps? will blimps replace the motorcar?
i think blimps are interesting because in alternative realitsties the terran army usually uses blimps and penny fartings and other steampunk shit. i hate steampunk as people like it because you can wear some goggles or some porridge faced model with fat tits wears a corset with some clocks on it and its steampunk. this thread is also about steampunk now as well as blimps.
This thread has a lot of info in it, megatron. I've never ridden on a blimp before but my dad in his old office used to have pictures of hot air balloons and I thought they were kind of magical and give me nostalgia because I used to play around there as a kid.
On the steam punk issue I think your right but I still think arcanum is a wonderful game and I like the setting a bit.

ive never rydden a blimp but ive taken the ferry to amsterdam a few times and lets just say what happens in amsterdam stays in amsterdam (i used drugs im saying this casually to downplay the coolness factor i believe it has) as for steam punk it worked in arcanum but not in real life maybe. hth
i would go on a blimp if it was tethered to something like a floating bar or something

i like looking at planes and helicopters in the sky but
if my experience of future movies is correct blimps will advertise duff beer and japanese girls smiling and eating crap i dont want that either
